A Victorian Renovation

The owners of this turreted, Victorian home on the edge of the Surrey Hills wanted a bright, spacious and convivial kitchen-cum-dining room where they could gather as a family and entertain guests.
To reflect their modern, eclectic tastes Armorel has created a design that is industrial and rustic with a hint of glamour. The kitchen comprises handsome, English oak cabinets sealed with a chic grey tint and shaker-inspired cupboards painted in ‘Mullet’ by Marston & Langinger together with worktops in charcoal concrete and white Compac carrara.

In the orangery, which serves as a dining area is a large prime oak table top with hand-profiled edges and adjustable cast iron legs that transforms into a bar with a few turns of a crank. Its partner is a bank of locker-inspired cabinets painted in Little Greene’s Basalt and embellished with brass marquetry with glazed doors and stylish brass-clad interiors. A striking feature and showcase for their collection of decorative objects it also offers a pleasing contrast to the clean lines of the kitchen.
The finished project is artfully accented with a selection of the owners’ French flea market and local curiosity shop finds.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Armorel. Being passionate about interior design and our home it meant it was crucial for us to find the right team capable of delivering our vision with exceptional levels of quality, fit and finish. Armorel understood our vision and helped us visualise our design concepts, they were committed and passionate about creating a unique space which has now become the heart of our home.

Tamsin is an extremely professional, creative and intuitive designer who has a personable and welcoming approach. This quickly instilled confidence in Armorel's ability to understand and deliver design proposals aligned with our vision, inclusive of the many challenging design elements and materials that we were keen to include within the new kitchen.

We are absolutely delighted with the end result and firmly believe that the success of the project is a tribute to Armorel’s attention to detail and desire to deliver excellence. We would whole-heartedly recommend Armorel to anyone looking for a bespoke interior design project and cannot thank them enough for their endless support and guidance throughout." P. M. Dorking
